San Diego is all about its fresh, whole foods and its farmers markets do not disappoint. Topping the list is the OB farmers market, located in the alternative-hippy beach neighborhood of Ocean Beach.
This farmers market stretches a few blocks and boasts much, much more than fruits and veggies. The OB farmers market welcomes you with belly dancers, live music, handmade jewelry, essential oils and A LOT of fresh food ready to be eaten for dinner.
The number of actual fruit and veggie vendors was, in my opinion, too sparse and the prices are higher than what you would pay at the grocer. But this market is a social event to be enjoyed for reasons other than stocking up on local organic produce.
What I ate: A potato, black bean and cactus vegan burrito, a rose flavored macaron (that tasted just like a rose would!), a dairy free, gluten free lemon bar and I brought home a dairy free, sugar free blackberry cobbler than I immediately ate after photographing.
I also bought a pretty crystal ring and some bergamot essential oils for face and chest massages. If you’ve never had a bergamot face massage during savasana you really are missing out on life. We also took home a lot of strawberries, baby tomatoes, a giant avocado, a cute bouquet of flowers the BF surprised me with and some gourmet salami and cheese.
If you’re ever in need of plans on a Wednesday evening I would recommend stopping by the OB Farmers Market in San Diego!
Next up on my list: The Little Italy Farmers Market on Saturday mornings.
